Human Rights and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

Who’s behind it? – The Danish Institute for Human Rights

How can it help? –  This report by The Danish Institute for Human Rights highlights the intersections between SDGs and human rights. Both are tied together in a mutually reinforcing way. This convergence creates a number of operational opportunities for pursuing integrated approaches to implementation and monitoring. More than 90% of the 169 SDG targets reflect core international human rights and labor standards. The report provides lessons learned and next steps for various key elements such as accountability, inclusiveness and transparency. It also proposes actions for the Human Rights Council to integrate the 2030 Agenda into its work.
